About Annie Cooke (B.A., M.A.R.) Reflexology
I have been a practising relexologist for 21 years, I am fully trained and a member of the association of reflexologists.

What happens at an appointment?

When visiting a reflexologist there will be a preliminary talk. Then you will be asked to remove your shoes and socks and whilst sitting in a comfortable position your feet will be massaged. There is no need to worry about ticklish feet, as the experience is much deeper than this. The reflexologist will access the different points on the feet and some of these may feel a little sensitive. Any discomfort is fleeting and an indication of congestion or imbalance in a corresponding part of the body. It is generally a pleasant and soothing experience. The whole process as well as being healing is also very relaxing and people often doze off. Reflexology usually lasts approximately 45 minutes although this can differ from person to person. For the first appointment it is best to allow one hour.
